Duluth host 2022 North conference champs in marquee matchup

Duluth FC vs. Med City

Public Schools Stadium | Duluth, MN

May 31, 2023 | Matchday 5

Current 2023 Records (W-L-T):

Duluth: 4-0-0

Med City: 2-1-1

Duluth FC will stay home this Wednesday, hosting Med City in a meeting between two of the three clubs to ever win the NPSL North conference title. Med City won that trophy for the first time last season, with their 1-1 draw in Duluth that season proving an important piece of the puzzle.

Games between the two clubs, both founding members of the NPSL North, have always proven entertaining and key to the title race. Med City have started this season with a mixture of results, tying the Dakota Fusion 1-1 before winning games against La Crosse Aris and Joy Athletic 1-0 and 3-2. Last weekend, they lost 2-0 to the Minnesota TwinStars.

This gives them seven points and leaves them tied for second place, a tie broken by the Dakota Fusion, who lead Med City on points per game, goals scored, and goal differential.

Duluth have yet to drop a point, winning all four of their matches this season. The BlueGreens have conceded one goal this year, that being at home against the Sioux Falls Thunder. Along the way, they have scored 13 goals, with Kostya Domaratskyy and Tyler Limmer leading the charge with four and three goals respectively.

Wednesday’s game at Public Schools Stadium looks set to be a must-watch contest. We look forward to welcoming you to our third home game of the season and watching the beautiful game in the beautiful city!
