About Gonnie

Returning to the Duluth back line, Gonnie Ben-Tal brings his experience and physical ability to Duluth for the third time after helping the club to titles in both 2017 and 2018.

While clean sheets are his first target, Ben-Tal has two goals for Duluth FC, one of which came last year in the former of the winning goal in Duluth’s 3-2 comeback victory against the TwinStars in 2018.

Ben-Tal played with Maccabi Tel Aviv, who won the Israeli Premier League in 2018, at the youth level until the age of 14 and played for FC Tuscon, now headed for the USL’s League One, while they were in the PDL (now USL League Two).

Ben-Tal attends Baker University where he was named in the NAIA All-American Third Team, was named a 2018 Daktronics-NAIA-Scholar-Athlete and made the Heart of America All-Conference 1st Team. He also reached the NAIA National Tournament Quarter Finals. Ben-Tal has played for Baker since 2016 and played at Mercer County Community College in 2015.
