About Brooks

Brooks Rice, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, will be returning to Duluth FC this season to continue his exciting career in the NPSL. Rice scored 3 regular season goals and one playoff goal for Duluth in 2018. These goals included one in the quarter final against Grand Rapids FC and a late winner against VSLT in the middle of the regular season to help spark Duluth’s rush to the top of the table.

Rice won the award for Alabama’s 2017-18 Gatorade State Boys Soccer Player of the Year in 2018 before moving on to his first year of college soccer. He spent his Freshman year at University of North Carolina and plans to transfer for his sophomore year. Rice finished his first collegiate season at UNC-Greensboro and helped the team become NCAA DI Southern Conference Tournament finalists.

Rice looks forward to returning to Duluth. “I am excited to pick back up where we left off last season. Although we made a far run in the national tournament, we have unfinished business in the league… I also look forward to making a farther run in the US Open Cup, we matched up well with a pro team last season. This gives us the confidence to go up against anyone this season.”
