Duluth: 2-1-2
TwinStars: 2-0-1
Duluth FC traveled to Brooklyn Park midweek to face the Minnesota TwinStars, one of the club’s oldest rivals, on May 30. The TwinStars went on to win 3-1, handing the BlueGreens their second loss of the season and a first loss to the Dragons in years. The night started with promise for Duluth as Edu Nys scored the opener and his second of the season, but the TwinStars answered back with two goals before halftime, leading 2-1 at the break.
The TwinStars extended their lead to 3-1 early in the second half. Duluth pressed hard in the final 20 minutes to get back in the game with substitutions and a hit of the post to boot, but could not score the needed goals and lost 3-1. Duluth are now 2-1-2.
Duluth’s schedule is packed this week, traveling Sioux Falls on June 1, traveling to play St. Croix Legends in the MN Super Cup on June 4, and hosting the TwinStars in a rematch on June 8.
