The BlueGreens host Med City in a grudge match for the NPSL North
Med City will be coming to town this Saturday and the energy is building up for this highly anticipated rematch between these two squads. The claim for the top spot for the NPSL North is currently up for grabs and these are the only two clubs that could grasp it with a win here. The last matchup resulted in a thrilling 2-1 victory for the BluGreens. The game was in gridlock until the last 5 minutes of the match when a Sam Thornton goal put them ahead and they were able to hold on for the much-needed victory. Since that matchup, Med City went on to put up eight goals against the Minnesota TwinStars while only allowing one in on their end. Dion Dozzell ended up with two goals in the last match while the other goals were spread around through the club. It seems pretty clear that they were maybe a little ticked off because of the loss at home and they took their frustration out on the TwinStars.
There is alot going on and alot on the line in this match so expect alot of intensity and alot of aggressive play. The teams were just feeling each other out last game as well so we may see a whole bunch of subs this game as coaches try to out-gameplan each other. Although it will be aggressive both teams are stout defensively so a low-scoring, grind-it-out battle can be presumed. Either way, it will be a fun one and in some glorious 68-degree weather that will feel good regardless if you’re a player or a fan.
