Duluth FC hosted the Minnesota TwinStars on Wednesday, July 12 in the NPSL North conference semifinals, winning 5-1 at Public Schools Stadium to make it three wins in three games against the TwinStars this season.

The night started tense for Duluth after the TwinStars, despite early chance for Duluth, scored the opening goal thanks to former Mr. Soccer Minnesota Sidike Jabateh. A response came soon after, with Conor Behan looping a pass to Tyler Limmer, who scored his 9th goal of the season to make it 1-1.

Kostya Domaratskyy scored a penalty in extra time to give Duluth its first lead of the game going into halftime. Despite a mixed start, the BlueGreens had a lead and momentum on their side going into the break.

A red card for the TwinStars at the start of the second half kicked off a strong 45 minutes for Duluth, as Andres Solares and Felipe Santos both scored to extend the lead to 4-1. The goals were Solares second and Santos’ fifth of the season.

Limmer scored another goal, this time a late penalty kick, to make it two goals and one assist on the night. The BlueGreens are now undefeated in 14 games in all competitions this season. The game concluded there, with Duluth set to host 2022 North champions Med City on July 15 in the conference final.
