Duluth FC traveled last week in a rescheduled game against Med City on June 2, eventually drawing the Mayhem in an action-packed meeting between the two clubs who have so often competed for silverware in the North.

Med City were the first to strike, scoring an 18th minute goal thanks to Tristan Jumeau to become one of the rare sides to lead Duluth FC at halftime, 1-0 in this case.

Just four minutes into the second half, Duluth found its response. A corner kick found Felipe Santos at the far post, who quickly let off with a reflexive shot as the ball landed at his feet. It was Santos’ fourth goal of the season, tying him with Stefan Roeb for the third-top goalscorer of the 2023 season.

A 88th minute red card for Colin O’Mahony meant Duluth had a touch of extra pressure going into the last moments of the game, but the remaining two minutes of regulation and five minutes of added time saw neither side score as it ended in a 1-1 draw.

The result does mean that Duluth’s ten game NPSL winning streak this season ends there, but the club remains unbeaten all year in all competitions. The BlueGreens also keep the number one spot they clinched previously in the NPSL North ahead of the playoffs.

Duluth’s final game of the season will arrive next weekend as they host second place Dakota Fusion. The Fusion have a strong hold on second place and are just six points behind Duluth, but cannot usurp the BlueGreens mathematically. The two clubs’ previous meeting ended in a 5-1 Duluth win in week six.
