Duluth rematched the Minnesota TwinStars Saturday in an eventual win after facing a defeat at the TwinStars earlier in the season.
The first half saw two easy goals, first by the TwinStars and then by Duluth’s Liam Pritchard to make it 1-1. Jireh Oyebamiji then gave Duluth its first lead of the night with a tug-o-war goal amid a tussle with a TwinStars defender. Edouard Nys made it 3-1 at the half hour mark as Duluth looked to build momentum. Nys added a second goal soon after. Oyebamiji continued the fun with a quarter attack goal just before halftime to make it 5-1.
Oyebamiji completed his first hat trick for Duluth early in the second half, making it 6-1. Captain Jake Starling converted a penalty late in the game to extend the lead to 7-1 as Duluth earned its largest win of the season so far to get revenge on the TwinStars.
The scoring frenzy completed one of Duluth’s strongest performances of the season thus far and made the BlueGreens victorious in their last two league games after a difficult midseason stretch that saw them take one draw and two losses from three games.
Duluth will return to play on June 12, traveling to play the MN Blizzard on Lakeville.
