Duluth FC hosted the Sioux Falls Thunder on June 19 in a 6-1 win to mark the BlueGreens second-to-last home game of the 2024 regular season. The scoring started quickly on Wednesday with early strikes for Edu Nys and Jireh Oyebamiji to give the BlueGreens a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The Thunder scored early in the second half, but the goal broke a dam of Duluth attacks and the BlueGreens responded triumphantly with four goals. Nys struck first to complete a brace for the night. Dylan Sumner, a club veteran who made his season debut for the team tonight after joining midseason, scored the next goal to re-extend the two goal lead.
Oyebamiji and Tyler Limmer scored one each toward the end of the game to secure the lead. Limmer’s goal saw him tie former-player James Westfield as the third-to-top all-time goalscorer at the club with 14 goals.
Duluth will return to action on June 22, traveling to play Joy Athletic in St. Louis Park. The team now has a 6-1-2 WDL record.
