Duluth faced Force FC in the second game of their Minnesota Super Cup group this weekend in an 8-0 win. Force FC play in the MASL and are based in the Twin Cities.
Duluth scored three goals in the first half through Manny Morales, Josh Bellamy, and Tyler Limmer to lead 3-0 at halftime. All three players have spent time on the bench this season but showed their quality and ability to get going from the start on Saturday. Limmer’s goal moved him up to 12 career goals with Duluth, tying with Kostya Domaratskyy in fourth for the club’s all-time goal rankings.
A Force own-goal helped Duluth early in the second half, before Rory Doyle (twice), Felipe Carli, and Felipe Arteaga added goals to extend the lead and give Duluth its first win of the 2024 Minnesota Super Cup.
Duluth’s next game will be midweek, hosting the Sioux Falls Thunder on June 19.
